Established in 1995, CYP's Washington Park programs serve one of most under-resourced communities in Chicago. Located just west of Hyde Park and U of C, Washington Park ranks in the bottom 5 of Chicago's 77 community areas in teen births, STD's, and homicides. CYP presents a comprehensive approach to providing services to children and families in Washington Park. This is done through a combination of academic tutoring and social mentoring programs. CYP is a non-profit organization that relies heavily on private donations and foundations for funding.
